RIFT has officially turned 15, and the celebration is now live across Telara. Gamigo has launched the Carnival of the Ascended 2026 event to mark the anniversary of the MMORPG’s original 2011 release, bringing back festive activities, rewards, and limited-time bonuses for players.
The anniversary event is now active and will run for approximately four weeks, giving both returning veterans and current players a chance to jump in and earn special rewards.
Carnival of the Ascended Returns
The Carnival of the Ascended has transformed major cities across Telara with decorations, quests, and event activities. Players can take part in daily and weekly challenges to earn event currency and unlock themed rewards.

Daily tasks encourage players to participate in Carnival Instant Adventures and mini-games across multiple zones.

A Milestone for One of the Last Classic MMOs
Originally launched in March 2011, RIFT quickly gained attention for its dynamic world events, flexible class system, and large-scale rift invasions. Fifteen years later, it remains one of the few MMORPGs from that era still actively running.
Despite a quieter news cycle in recent years, anniversary events like Carnival of the Ascended continue to bring players back to Telara and highlight the game’s longevity.
Community Activity Around the Anniversary
The anniversary has also sparked renewed discussion across MMO communities, with players sharing nostalgia, revisiting older characters, and participating in event activities.
While RIFT may not dominate headlines like newer MMORPGs, its long lifespan and dedicated player base continue to keep the game alive well into 2026.
With the Carnival of the Ascended now underway and anniversary rewards available, the celebration serves as a reminder that RIFT is still running — and still worth logging into for longtime fans.
