Name Reclaim by Jan 31!

It’s a new year, and it’s time to clear the dusty shelves of names long unused. These names will be freed up for use by new and active players.

We will release the names of characters that have not logged in for over one year as of January 31, 2018. If you’re not sure you’ve played a character in the last year, don’t take the chance – please log into each character whose name you wish to retain at least once before midnight, Pacific Time (UTC -8) on January 31, 2018. This will automatically record your character as being active and will keep your existing names in place.

Be assured that we’re not deleting CHARACTERS – they’ll remain intact, in case their owners wish to play again in the future. If you take no action and come back after the reset, you’ll be prompted to choose new names for your characters when you log in. There is no charge for the automatic rename process.

The name reclaim and release will apply to ArcheAge, RIFT and Trove PC. We are sending emails to all affected accounts, and will also get the word out through this blog, our livestreams and social media. If you have friends who may be affected, please pass it on!

Fae Yule EXTENDED to Jan 11!

Some Grinch-like critters tried to steal Fae Yule but the brave techno-elves of Trion fought back and we are EXTENDING Fae Yule for all!



We know that a number of people have had issues with disconnects and lag over the past weeks, and we felt your pain as well. The folks who perpetrate DDOS attacks care nothing for the people who are just trying to have fun in games. It’s an ongoing battle in our online world, but our security and technical staff have made great strides over this past week, in hopes of a happy holiday break!

Our CEO, Scott Hartsman, is writing a note on the situation as well, and we will link it here for you as soon as it is ready!

We thank you for your patience and invite you to enjoy Fae Yule until 3:30 PM PST (UTC -8), Thursday, January 11th! Don’t miss out on any of the amazing activities, challenges, specials and presents!

Grandfather Fae Yule Dimension Contest

KelariCuddles is at it again, this time with a Grandfather Fae Yule community dimension contest!



In honor of Fae Yule, KelariCuddles is hosting a community dimension contest! From now until January 31, 2018, create a dimension worthy of Grandfather Fae Yule. This contest is open to players on both EU and NA.

Objective
Grandfather Fae Yule has to live and work somewhere right? You have the option of either making Grandfather Fae Yule’s workshop, his home, both, or even his summer home where he hides when he does not have bahmi crushing his lap. It’s up to you! You’re the interior designer for this bearded bogling!

• Dimensions should be closed until January 31, 2018 at 11:59 PM PST
• Dimensions should be open by February 1, 2018 at 12:00 AM PST

Rules

1. This is a personal dimension contest only, and fresh build. There are no dimension limits, you can use any dim key, any item amount, go crazy to your hearts content with the item choices.
2. No groups allowed, this is just what one person creates. The prizes are individual, so would hate for you to figure out who gets what. So easier to make it an individual challenge.
3. One entry per person please. All entries must be submitted via this thread.
4. All entries must stay closed until January 31st 2018 11:59pm PDT, dimensions should be open by Febuary 1st 2018 12:00am PDT. If they are not, you will be disqualified.

All submissions will have screenshots taken and posted on twitter, but the submissions will also be lived streamed by KelariCuddles.

Judging Criteria

• Theme: (10 Points) Can we tell this dimension has a Grandfather Fae Yule living in it or his workshop. This contest is all about our favorite bearded bogling.
• Composition: (25 points) How much of the dimension key did you use, how cramp is the down, is there plants, is everything spread out, does it mesh well or look like a Pollock paint with rift items.
• Skill: (5 points) Did you use pre made buildings or did you make things from scratch?
• Creativity: (30 points) How creative was the person? How much detail is in the dim? Did we find anything unique, hidden? Secret rooms?
• Preference: (10 points) This is the judges score, how much did they personally like your dimension.

How to Enter
Before the deadline, go to the RIFT forums and post your Name, Shard, Dimension Name, and Dimension Description to the official Grandfather Fae Yule Dimension Contest thread.
