Welcome to Alpha & Omega PTS!

THANK YOU for helping us test RIFT Live and Prime services. You help us a great deal, and always find things that help make the world of Telara better for all!

A few notes to keep in mind:
  • The PTS shards are not always available and may come down unexpectedly.
  • At times, the Dev team may make limited-time items available for testing purposes.
  • Always expect the unexpected on our PTS shards! The only diety on PTS servers is Murphy, and you know what they say about his Law!
  • Your character and items are at risk of random acts of code, natural and unnatural disasters and general mayhem. On the other hand, you’ll get to see and try new content, items and balance passes before anyone else!

Please use the Public Test Shard section of the RIFT Forums for your feedback!

A number of folks have been confused by Alpha and Omega; here’s what they are and how you get to them both!

ALPHA is the Public Test Shard (PTS) for RIFT Live.

To access Alpha, start Glyph, then select RIFT on the left, then select PTS from the dropdown at upper right.
You can copy characters from Live servers to Alpha. Launch the Glyph client and select RIFT. Log in to character select, choose the target character, click the ‘Transfer’ button and select “Copy to PTS”. Next time you load the Alpha Test shard your character will be available for you to use. Once you are “cloned” on PTS, that character can be changed around without affecting your original character in any way.
Note: credits are shared between live shards and the PTS. This means that any credits you spend on the PTS will be deducted from your credits on live shards, so be careful when buying items from the store!

OMEGA is the Public Test Shard (PTS) for RIFT Prime.

To access Omega, start Glyph, select RIFT PRIME on the left, then select PTS from the dropdown at upper right.
You cannot copy Live or Prime characters to Omega. Instead, we provide NPCs on Omega to provide you with a level 50 boost and some start-up gear.
