What is Summerfest?

You may be wondering about the origins of Summerfest. While some of the history is lost to time, many scholars believe that Summerfest dates back to ancient elven rituals involving burning sacrifices inside wicker figures. Of course, most elves would prefer to forget these barbaric references to their past. In fact, such practices are now forbidden by both High Elves and Kelari alike, although sometimes alluded to by disgruntled Dwarves. What remains in modern Telara is a celebration of flames for all Ascended to enjoy. Summerfest is now the holiday that marks the longest days of summer in Telara. Ascended continue to celebrate ancient traditions and have fun, even in the sweltering heat. This helps lighten the distract celebrants from the stress of the near-constant threats against Telara.

Return to Caduto‘s Maze of Madness

One year ago, well-known community members Caduto (CADRIFT) and Seshatar (twitch.tv/seshatar) invited you into the Maze of Madness, a twisted labyrinth which promised you great rewards – if you could find the way out before your rivals. This year the Maze will return, in a brand new form, to challenge you again! Are you prepared?

• What? A maze run through Telara‘s most twisted labyrinth!
• Who? Everyone can join!
• When? Saturday, 22nd June 2019 at 21:00 UTC (EU Server Time)
• Where? Dimension „Oblivion Maze“ by „Caduto“ on EU-Typhiria and on twitch.tv/seshatar

EU Shard Merge rescheduled for June 12th

The EU server merge that was scheduled for June 5th is being rescheduled for June 12th.

During the EU server merge an issue was encountered that prevented the merger process from completing. This issue has been resolved, but the merge process needed to be run again from the start, requiring the downtime to be extended by a significant amount of time. Due to the hour of the day and the need to patch on June 6th, we felt that it would be more beneficial for the community to postpone the merge until Wednesday June 12th.

This will reduce the expected downtime for EU servers on Thursday from 6 hours to 2 hours, and reduce the chance that the downtime would run into the event scheduled to run this weekend. Additionally, Thursday’s patch will include a new set of vouchers that can be used to transfer rare event currency between characters on an account.

Once again, we apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

EU Live Shard merges

With the recent transition to the Google Cloud Platform, the team has been working hard to improve the server capacity and performance for our European cluster.

In order to adapt the current structure shards in our European cluster will be going through merges on June 5th, 2019. After it’s all been completed, the European cluster will consist of:

• Brutwacht (German) (PVE)
• Brisesol (French) (PVE)
• Typhiria (English) (PVE)
• Cahail (Hidden – Used for load balancing dungeons, raids & warfronts)

Bloodiron (PVP), Zaviel, Gelidra & Refuge will be merged into Typhiria (PVE).

Unfortunately, the population no longer warrants support for an open world PVP server, as noted above Bloodiron will be merged into the PVE Typhiria environment.
